The October Country features a compilation of beautiful landscape images taken over the duration of John’s career to date, all taken during the month of October. John commented…

“Looking through my back catalogue I noticed that a I had a high number of images taken during October. For me, there is something incredibly special about both the variety of the climactic conditions and the light in October, and particularly so in Scotland. From clear sunny days, to mist, hail and if you’re lucky, the first snows of winter.”

The project includes iconic images of landscapes that have changed (some dramatically) since the photo was made. The cover image for the accompanying book is a perfect example as the dead tree featured no longer exists due to storm damage. It is to our benefit that John has not only captured the subject, but the very essence of why it added a special quality integral to the surrounding landscape as a whole.
